Which newsreader should I use?

All Microsoft newsgroups are available through both a Web-based newsreader and an NNTP newsreader, such as Outlook Express. In fact you'll see links allowing you to choose between Web-based and NNTP newsreaders when you see listings of newsgroups. Don’t know which to choose? This may help you:

Why choose the Web-based newsreader:
Web-based newsreaders are especially popular for beginners, because you don’t need to install anything new. The fact you’re reading this page means you already have a Web browser, which is all you need to access the Web-based newsreader.

Why choose an NNTP newsreader:
Some people prefer an NNTP Newsreader such as Outlook Express because it allows them to download newsgroup content and then work with it while they’re not connected to the Internet.
