When do I need my badge?
You must wear your name badge and badge wallet for the entire conference. You will not gain entry to the Conference Center without it. If you are not wearing your credentials, you will be stopped by security and asked to put them on. We need your help to comply with these security guidelines. We are taking every reasonable and appropriate action to ensure the safety and security of our attendees at this event.
Can I use my wireless card at Convergence?
There are a number of designated Work Areas in the Conference Center. These areas provide either wireless connectivity (WiFi), or wired connectivity via Ethernet cable drops. There will also be Wireless Network coverage to other general areas of the Conference Center. This is available to all attendees to use and will operate in most areas throughout the Conference Center, with the exception of the Keynote Hall, Hall B and Session Rooms.
Can I use my mobile phone?
The use of mobile phones is not permitted in or near the conference session rooms.
Can I use my camera?
Out of respect for our presenters, we ask that no flash photography, video and/or audio recorders or laser pointers be used during any sessions. Video recording is not allowed in any Convergence session.
Where do I leave messages for other attendees?
While onsite you may use the Communications Network (CommNet) to send e-mails to other attendees. If you wish to leave a telephone number where you can be contacted, we recommend that you leave the number of your hotel. Unfortunately, we have no means of delivering messages at the conference.
Is smoking permitted in the facilities?
Smoking is not prohibited throughout the Conference Center. Please use designated smoking areas outside the facility.
What is the Dress Code?
The dress code for all attendees at this event is business casual.
What if I have a special need or request?
All requests submitted pre-event have been addressed. Should you have any questions onsite, please go to registration and they will contact the appropriate crew member to assist.
Will there be a first aid station?
There are first aid facilities available in the main registration foyer at the Conference Center during scheduled conference hours. If you require medical assistance at any time, please speak to a member of the events team, wearing black long-sleeve t-shirts labeled ‘Convergence 2008 Event Support Staff’. See the floor plan in your conference guide you will receive at registration for the exact location.
Are spouses and/or children allowed to attend the conference activities?
The event and all related conference activities are for approved attendees only. Guest passes are available for purchase for guests that are 21 years old or older. No children or infants are allowed at any activities or parties; if child care is needed, please check with your hotel.
What about special meals?
We offer a varied buffet which includes a vegetarian option for every meal. If you require a sealed and specially prepared kosher meal, please complete the optional section upon registration. We will make every effort to accommodate dietary restrictions for kosher requests based upon timeframe.
