Create a Multimedia Story Format

Updated: July 7, 2004

This tutorial is designed so that you can set up multimedia story formats beforehand or you can instruct your students to set them up as part of the lesson, depending on your curriculum objectives and the age of your students.

Create a slide show:

1.

Start Microsoft PowerPoint.

2.

In the title text box, type a title for your story. Adjust the font style and size.

3.

In the subtitle text box, type your name as author of the story.

4.

Reposition your title and name on the page, and resize them accordingly. To move a text box, select the text box by clicking its border, and when the pointer becomes a four-headed arrow, drag the text box to the desired location.

5.

On the Format menu, click Background. From the drop-down list box, choose a color or fill effect for your title page.

5.

Adjust the font size and text color to suit your taste.

8.

Once it is on the slide, you can resize your clip art by selecting the image and dragging the resize handles.

9.

Drag and drop your image to the appropriate gap in your text. You may want to add extra spaces to accommodate the image.
