Tracking Licenses with eOpen
Updated: April 6, 2004
Microsoft makes license administration easy with eOpen, a Web-based license delivery and management system. eOpen is a secure Website that reflects our record of the license status of all of your Open License acquisitions. With each acquisition, you will receive access to the site to view the license status, data, acquisition and return details, Open License agreements, and other information.
eOpen benefits:
| • | Ability to electronically track transactions |
| • | Easy access to transaction history including acquisitions, reorders and returns |
| • | Reduction of administrative costs associated with manually tracking license certificates and software compliance |
| • | Immediate authorization to begin copying software and deploying software licenses |
| • | Access to Volume License Keys for product installation |
| • | Administration of Software Assurance benefits |
How eOpen works
When Microsoft accepts an Academic Open order, the authorization number and license number are created and posted to eOpen within 24 hours, giving a view of our record of the customer's license status.
