Lunch Count Form

Customization Instructions

You can easily customize the Lunch Count form. The following are a few easy customizations to this form that might enhance its use. It is recommended that the fields and controls on this form not be changed to ensure they interact with the database. Before customizing it is recommended to be familiar with VBScript or to work with a Microsoft Certified Partner. For these reasons, only limited customization instructions are provided below.

Changing the form elements

To start the Form Designer

1.

Open Microsoft Outlook.

2.

On the Tools menu, point to Forms, and then click Design a Form.

3.

In the Design a Form dialog box, select the type of form you want to modify.

4.

Click Open, and the form opens in the Form Designer.

Note To modify the existing Lunch Count form, in the Look In list, select the folder that contains the form; for example, if you have published this form in your Organizational Forms Library, in the Look in list, click the Organizational Forms Library folder, and then click Lunch Count.

Requiring that users include complete information before submitting information to the folder

Adding a validation requirement ensures that critical information is not omitted.

1.

Open the form in Design view.

2.

Right-click the control you would like to validate, and then click Properties.

3.

Click the Validation tab, and then select the A value is required for this field check box.

4.

Click OK to save the validation information and close the Properties dialog box.

To add a picture

1.

Click Control Toolbox (the hammer and wrench button on the toolbar) to open the Toolbox.

2.

Click Image, and then drag the plus sign (+) icon to draw the image control on the form.

3.

Right-click the image control, and then click Advanced Properties.

4.

Double-click the Picture property. Navigate to and select the image file in the Load Picture dialog box.

5.

Click Open, and then close the Properties dialog box.

Note The image control does not automatically resize to the image file. You must resize the image control manually.

Publishing the form

To save changes to the existing form

1.

With the Lunch Count form open in Design view, on the Tools menu, click Forms, and then click Publish Form.
