Business Applications

The mission of the business applications group at MSIDC is to extend the connected enterprise by enabling applications to easily integrate with sensors, line-of-business applications and business protocols. The biz apps teams are building platform technologies for connectivity between software systems and devices such as RFID readers, an adapter framework and adapters to connect to back-end applications and a platform to connect business partners through EDI, SWIFT and other B2B protocols. The team is also building easy-to-use Sharepoint experience for small organizations, information workers and consumers. Many of these efforts are completely owned and executed from MSIDC.

BizTalk

The BizTalk team at MSIDC is building solutions to connect systems both inside and across organizations. This includes exchanging data and orchestrating business processes which require multiple systems. The team develops BizTalk Server which helps organizations create automated business processes, connect applications, Adapters that connect line of business (LOB) systems to Microsoft business platforms like SQL Server, BizTalk Server and MOSS, and RFID technology that provides an innovative device management and event processing platform at the edge of the enterprise. In addition, BizTalk includes support for Document Interchange (EDI) and accelerators to speed up deployment.

The goal of the Office Business Applications (OBA) group is to make Microsoft Office the primary user experience for working with business information and participating in business processes. The group focuses on developing enabling technologies which connect Microsoft Office to Line of Business processes and information.

The MSIDC Dynamics™ CRM team has worked end-to-end on key features of the product, including Marketing Automation Module, East Asian Market specific features, Integration Solutions and Data Management for Microsoft Dynamics CRM. The team is geared up to deliver the next wave of innovative CRM applications with state-of-the-art features in the areas of Collaboration, Customer Services Applications and Business Intelligence and Data Management.

SharePoint

The charter of the SharePoint Express team at MSIDC is to deliver the SharePoint experience for reach customers. The team will enable the next generation of hosted web collaboration by building easy-to-use SharePoint experience for small organizations, information workers and consumers. It will be part of delivering this hosted SharePoint functionality to users who are outside an enterprise through the software plus services offerings in Microsoft Online. The team’s mission is to make Microsoft SharePoint® 2010 as essential to knowledge workers as Office Suite applications are to everyone. The vision is to make SharePoint the first choice of web based collaboration for everyone.
