Leadership Team Abraham (Avi) Nathan ILDC Director of Engineering Excellence Avi has 26 years of experience in the software engineering industry out of which 20 at Microsoft Corp. At Microsoft Avi has worked on and led successfully several Microsoft products in the Operating Systems division, and led the development of the MS firewall proxy product line in the years 1996-2001 Avi joined Microsoft Corp in 1989 when he relocated from Israel to the Redmond campus, where he worked in the systems division on OS/2 and Windows NT. Avi returned to Israel in 1991, and established the first Microsoft R&D Center outside the US, with his colleague Yaron Shamir, who was appointed General Manager. In 2001, Shamir retired and Avi assumed the position of General Manager of the Haifa subsidiary. In 2008 Avi stepped down from the GM role and established the Engineering Excellence team in ILDC Avi holds a B.A. degree in computer science (1983) and MSc (1989) from the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion).   Back to Leadership Team
