Nancy Stevenson and Elaine Marmel

Nancy Stevenson is a full time author and consultant specializing in high-tech topics including Microsoft Office applications and the Internet. She has written more than two dozen books including Distance Learning for Dummies, Special Edition Using PowerPoint 97 (perhaps the bestselling book on this version of this software), and Office 98 One Step at a Time. Prior to becoming a full time author Ms. Stevenson held management positions in the technology publishing area, including Associate Publisher for a division of Random House, and Publishing Manager at Que. She has also taught technical writing at the university level, and has worked as a training manager in the software industry.

Elaine Marmel is President of Marmel Enterprises, Inc., an organization that specializes in technical writing and software training. Elaine spends most of her time writing and has authored and co-authored more than 30 books about software products, including Windows 98, Word for Windows, Word for the Mac, Quicken for Windows, Microsoft Project, Quicken for DOS, 1-2-3 for Windows, Lotus Notes, and Excel. Elaine also is a contributing editor to Inside Peachtree for Windows and Inside QuickBooks for Windows, monthly magazines.

Elaine left her native Chicago for the warmer climes of Florida (by way of Cincinnati, OH; Jerusalem, Israel; Ithaca, NY; and Washington, D.C.) where she basks in the sun with her PC and her cats, Cato, Watson and Buddy, and sings barbershop harmony.
