Craig Zacker is a writer, editor, and networker whose computing experience began in the days of teletypes and paper tape. After making the move from minicomputers to PCs, he worked as an administrator of Novell NetWare networks and as a PC support technician while operating a freelance desktop publishing business. After earning a Masters Degree in English and American Literature from New York University, Craig worked extensively on the integration of Microsoft Windows NT into existing internetworks, supported fleets of Windows workstations, and was employed as a technical writer, content provider, and webmaster for the online services group of a large software company. Since devoting himself to writing and editing full-time, Craig has authored or contributed to many books on networking topics, operating systems, and PC hardware, including MCSA/MCSE Self-Paced Training Kit: Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure Administration, Exam 70-216, Second Edition and MCSA Training Kit: Managing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Environment. Jill has 16 years of experience developing documentation and training, and has worked for Thomson NETG, Wallace, Waste Management, Rockwell FirstPoint Contact, GAB Robins, and National Move Management.
Kurt Hudson started working with information technology systems in 1989 while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Since 1996, he is a computer consultant and president of HudLogic, Inc. Kurt has earned many technical ratings, which include: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE in Windows 2000, NT 4.0+I, and NT 3.51), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+), Security+, Network+, A+, and i-Net+. He also has a graduate degree in business management (Masters of Management) from Troy State University, AL. He has also contributed to well over 30 commercial books and articles on computer networking and related technical certifications.
Melissa Craft is the vice-president and CIO for Dane Holdings, Inc., a financial services corporation in Phoenix, Arizona, where she manages the Web development, LAN and WAN for the company. During her career, Melissa has focused her expertise on developing enterprise-wide technology solutions and methodologies focused on client organizations. In 1997, Melissa began writing magazine articles on networking and the information technology industry. In 1998, Syngress hired Melissa to contribute to an MCSE certification guide. Since then, Melissa has continued to write about various technology and certifications subjects. Melissa holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and is a member of the IEEE, the Society of Women Engineers, and American Mensa, Ltd.
