PC Essentials is an optional discount licensing program that increases your customers' experience with your PCs by offering them a basic productivity suite along with other innovative tools that help them get the most out of their PCs.
The PC Essentials applications are all included right in the Office 2010 OPK for your convenience. Components include:
- Office Starter 2010
Microsoft Office Starter 2010 is a new, royalty-bearing base productivity suite designed for home users who are not ready to buy a full version of Office 2010. It consists of limited-functionality versions of Word and Excel that include advertising. It does not include PowerPoint or Outlook. Office Starter 2010 is available only through OEMs and system builders, and is available only on new PCs when preloaded in conjunction with the Office Single Image containing all three Office suites ready for end-user activation. End users must purchase a Product Key to activate the full Office 2010 functionality.

- Office 2010 Single Image
One single image that contains all of the elements necessary to preload all three Office 2010 suites (Office Home and Student 2010, Office Home and Business 2010, and Office Professional 2010) onto new PCs for easy end-user activation.
- Windows Live Essentials
Client applications for email, instant messaging, photos, video, and blogging. Windows Live provides out-of-box functionality that consumers have come to expect from their great new PCs.
