  • Leverage channel incentives through the OEM Reseller Incentives Program to build marketing campaigns and increase your margins.

The OEM Reseller Incentives Program provides channel incentives, including cash rebates and co-op marketing funds, to participating resellers for qualifying purchases of Windows Pro Touch Devices and Microsoft OEM Software licenses.

How it works

Eligible resellers can earn channel incentives in U.S. dollars based on eligible products purchased from reporting qualifying Authorized Distributors and OEM Channel Distributors. Eligible products include:


Windows Devices
  • Eligible PCs and Tablets that are touch-enabled and licensed with genuine preinstalled Windows 8 Pro or Windows 8.1 Pro, excluding retail SKUs for Surface 3, Surface Pro 2, Surface Pro, and any Shape of the Future Product.
OEM Software
  • Eligible OEM Windows Client software licenses.
  • Eligible Office 365 and Office 2013 Suite licenses.
  • Eligible OEM Windows Server and Server Reseller Option Kit (ROK) software licenses.
  • Eligible Microsoft Azure purchases.

Participating resellers can claim rebates, and reimburse eligible costs from OEM Co-op Funds for activities associated with the promotion and marketing of Windows devices and systems preinstalled with Microsoft OEM Software. Activities include:
  • Demand Generation – activities such as print, broadcast, and web advertising designed for broad reach.
  • Market Development – marketing and business development activities such as tradeshows and events designed for a specific audience.
  • Partner Readiness – training, readiness, and development activities designed to improve Microsoft technology expertise.

How to become eligible

To participate in the OEM Reseller Incentives Program, resellers must meet purchase minimums and eligibility requirements for Windows Device Incentives and/or OEM Software Incentives.

  • Tier 1 OEM Resellers earn both OEM Rebate and OEM Co-op Funds.
  • Tier 2 OEM Resellers earn OEM Rebate Funds.

Funds are managed via the Microsoft Channel Incentives Platform (CHIP).

Resellers must meet the Windows Device Incentives Eligibility Criteria to receive Windows Device Incentive Funds as a Tier 1 or Tier 2 OEM Reseller, and resellers must meet the OEM Software Incentives Eligibility Criteria to receive OEM Software Incentive Funds as a Tier 1 or Tier 2 OEM Reseller.

Resellers can verify eligibility via email request, with MPN ID, to oemincentives@microsoft.com. The following table shows eligibility criteria for Windows Devices and for OEM Software incentives.

1 MPN ID must be linked to program via email request. Email oemincentives@microsoft.com with MPN ID and MS Sales TPID, at least two weeks before the following deadlines:
FY H1 Program Period – 1 Sep (current year)
FY H2 Program Period – 31 Mar (next year)

2 6-Month Purchase Requirements apply to Eligible Products purchased from:
FY H1 Program Period – 1 Jan through 30 Jun (current year)
FY H2 Program Period – 1 Jul through 31 Dec (current year)

3 Technical certification must be met by 31 Mar 2015.
