Steve Polzin
Distinguished Engineer

Steve Polzin is a distinguished engineer working on the Xbox team.  Polzin joined Microsoft in 2007, working on next generation entertainment hardware systems. Prior to joining Microsoft, he was a Senior Fellow at AMD, where he spearheaded AMD’s mobile platform efforts, and was the technical lead on the corporate strategy and M&A team.  Polzin started at AMD leading the team working on the first AMD K6 and K7 (Athlon) chipsets, as well as the industry introduction of DDR memory.  Subsequently he formed the System Architecture team that developed the system aspects of the Opteron server products, including Hypertransport and DirectConnect memory.

Polzin also worked at Apple Computer as the system architect for the PCI based PowerPC Macintosh Desktop systems.  He also spent 9 years at Digital Equipment Corp designing VAX and Alpha servers, concentrating on memory, multiprocessor and I/O subsystems.
