For businesses, government or educational institutions

  • Submit an incident online (fees may apply*)
    You’ll need to provide a credit card or contract access identification information when opening an incident online. The credit card will not be charged nor will the contract be decremented for opening a hardware case. Customers who do not have an existing professional, MSDN or TechNet contract or who don’t want to provide their credit card number should call for support.

*Customers opening incidents for hardware issues will not be charged unless the issue is out of warranty and not covered by consumer law rights.

Protect your investment: Extended Hardware Service Plans

Microsoft has two extended warranty plans for business that build upon the standard warranty that comes with Surface. These plans extend the standard warranty up to three years, and can be purchased up to 45 days after your Surface date of purchase.

Microsoft Extended Hardware Service + Accidental Damage from Handling
  Extends coverage to 3 years
  Upgrade to Advanced Exchange service model (not available in all regions)
  No deductible for Accidental Damage
  Maximum 2 claims for Accidental Damage

Microsoft Extended Hardware Service
  Extends coverage to 3 years
  Upgrade to Advanced Exchange service model (not available in all regions)

Standard warranty
  Included with device
  Standard exchange for replacements
  1 year of express warranty for hardware defects and malfunctions
Advance Exchange entitles you to receive a replacement device before you return a non-functional device to Microsoft. You’ll need to return the non-functional device to Microsoft within 15 business days of your request for exchange. (Advanced Exchange is not available in all regions.)

Purchase an Extended Hardware Service Plan

You can buy an Extended Hardware Service Plan through any Authorised Surface Resellers .
Once purchased, you can redeem your Extended Service Plan Token at the Business Online Service Center .

This warranty is given in addition to other rights and remedies you may have under law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being replaced. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the goods.
