RE&F Supported Employment Program Receives Multiple AwardsIn October and November, the Microsoft Real Estate and Facilities (RE&F) Supported Employment Program has been honored to receive the following awards and recognition:
These awards are a testament to the contributions and hard work by participating employers such as Compass Dining, AV, Catering, Facilities, Beverages, Meeting Solutions, Novitex, MV Transportation, CBRE IFM/IOS, Northwest Landscape Services, ABM, and Corporate Moving Systems. This recognition also reflects the excellence and effort made by participating employment agency coaching staff from Vadis, Highline ACHIEVE, Trillium, AtWork!, Northwest Center, PROVAIL, Puget Sound Personnel, Work Opportunities, Mainstay, and Cares of Washington. We thank those who nominated Microsoft RE&F for this recognition and the organizations who honored this program.

RE&F Supported Employees Participate in Special Olympics Unified Soccer GameOn October 27, RE&F supported employees were invited to participate in the first ever Special Olympics unified soccer game with a few Seattle Sounders and the Sounders Wave Marching Band as Microsoft announced a new partnership with the Special Olympics. We thank the great weather and all the players, families, coaches, employers, and volunteers who made this event possible!
Supported Employment Program Places 111 Supported Employees
The Microsoft Real Estate and Facilities (RE&F) Supported Employment program is moving forward with fantastic efforts being made by eight RE&F vendors to provide work opportunities in partnership with area employment agencies who are providing excellent coaching support services for individuals seeking work opportunities on the Redmond, Washington, campus.
Since its inception, the Supported Employment Program has placed 111 supported employees and has positions in development for employees with developmental disabilities. The RE&F vendors currently participating include Compass Eurest, MV Transportation, CBRE, Novitex (Pitney Bowes), Northwest Landscape Services, ABM, and Corporate Moving Systems, with more coming soon. This program is generating much excitement regarding the impact it is having on supported employees, their families, and those participating.
Supported Employment Workshops for Employment Vendors Held July 14–15
The Supported Employment program is excited to announce the arrival of new Supported Employment Workshops conducted by Highline Community College on the Microsoft Redmond campus.
The workshops provide employers with new skills and insights on communication best practices, key information regarding the supervision and hiring of supported employees, and an overview of the evolution and current state of supported employment.
