P3P Privacy StatementUpdated: May 16, 2007 P3P Privacy StatementThe Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P) is a machine-readable privacy statement supported by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). P3P-enabled sites make privacy statements available in a standard, machine-readable format that P3P-enabled browsers can access. Web sites implement P3P on their servers by translating their human-readable privacy policies into an Extensible Markup Language (XML) schema that user agents can read. Users can then set preferences to automatically be informed of site practices without reading privacy policies for every site they visit.
