Jeremy Moore’s Microsoft YouthSpark Story Jeremy Moore’s Microsoft YouthSpark Story

Jeremy Moore is a senior at Lee County High School in Beattyville, Kentucky. As part of our YouthSpark initiative, Jeremy is taking the first distance learning computer science class taught by Microsoft volunteers like Isaac Wilson, pictured above. But his teachers are giving him more than just lessons in computer programming. They’re giving him an opportunity to expand his world.

Before his computer science class, Jeremy struggled in all his courses. But as soon as the class began, something changed. It was clear that Jeremy had found his calling. Not only did he excel in his computer studies, but his grades improved across the board. Now he’s on the honor roll and wants to be a software engineer.

Jeremy is one of many students across America whose lives are being transformed by YouthSpark programs. By teaching them the skills they’ll need to land great jobs, we’re expanding their opportunities and offering them a brighter future.
