As General Manager of Microsoft’s Gulf subsidiary since November 2010, Samer Ramez
Abu-Ltaif is dedicated to advancing the company’s reputation as an innovative, employee-friendly
enterprise, and growing its market share through strategic alliances with key partners.
With more than 20 years of experience in the IT field, he has proven himself to
be a consistent high-achiever, possessing excellent leadership and business management
skills and an impressive network of high-level contacts throughout the Middle East.
Abu-Ltaif joined Microsoft in April 2004 as General Manager of Microsoft North,
where he expanded Microsoft’s official presence from Kuwait to encompass both Bahrain
and Qatar. In October 2005, he took over as Regional Director for the Enterprise
& Partner Group of MEA where he built and drove Microsoft’s strategy for eight
subsidiaries covering 79 countries in the Middle East and Africa. During this time,
he was responsible for key initiatives contributing to Microsoft success and growth
in the region and also represented the Middle East and Africa as a key member of
the Enterprise Leadership team of Microsoft worldwide.
Throughout his tenure at Microsoft, Samer has constantly excelled and he had the
distinction of being the best worldwide performer with Microsoft Enterprise Area
Scorecard in 2009/2010. He has also been a consistent winner for the worldwide Microsoft
Honor Compete Award in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Abu-Ltaif worked as General Manager of Financial Solutions
Group for NCR Gulf & Pakistan where he had a distinguished career in sales and
management spanning 14 years.
Abu-Ltaif has a BSc in Computer Science from the American University of Beirut and
an MBA from Columbus University in the US.
