The most closely watched part of the announcement will be further definition of what the economic stimulus legislation called the “meaningful use” of digital health records.

New York-Presbyterian Hospital is using both Amalga for managing the provider's own records and at the same time tapped HealthVault to provide patient access.
Microsoft unveiled a new version its real-time enterprise data aggregation platform. Almaga Unified Intelligent System 2009 offers bi-directional integration with Microsoft's HealthVault, an online repository where people can store and manage their health and wellness information. The solution also adds a Web interface to the system so health-care practitioners who have the right to access information from Almaga can do so through a Web portal.
