Microsoft Amalga Hospital Information System (HIS) 2009 is built on a single architecture and code base—unlike many other systems that are pieced together from multiple products. Amalga HIS was designed from the start to provide health systems with an end-to-end information system that meets the many different needs of all departments across a hospital.

  • Uses HTTP communication protocol, enabling remote access through the Internet.

  • Supports multiple languages and region-specific currencies, numbers, dates, and times for text input and output.
  • Enables scanned document management with bar-coding.
  • Includes a built-in HL7 integration engine, managed with Microsoft Management Console and scripted with VB Script.
