John Lutian is a chemical-materials engineer in the Applied Sciences Group at Microsoft Corp. and supports the optical research component of various projects including the laser tracking engines in mice. He has a passion for combining optical and computational systems in his human-computer interaction development projects. Lutian also supports optical metrology and materials characterization issues at Microsoft.
Before joining Microsoft, Lutian worked for various East Coast companies that were involved in the night vision industry and medical imaging systems, including Galileo Electro-Optics Corp. and Schott Fiber Optics Inc.
Lutian received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut’s Institute of Materials Science.
