Emilio Umeoka assumed leadership of Microsoft's
Asia Pacific organization as President as
of 1 September 2006. He holds direct responsibilities
for Microsoft's marketing, sales, services, operational
and business development efforts, overseeing a region
which includes Southeast Asia, Korea, Australia, New
Zealand, and emerging markets Bangladesh, Brunei and Sri
Lanka.
Prior to coming to Asia Pacific, Umeoka was the
General Manager of the Microsoft Brazil subsidiary since
July 2002. His notable success in leadership included
the coveted award win for being one of the country's
"Most Admired Companies," "#2 Most Desired Company to
Work for College Students", and one of the top ten
"Great Places to Work" in Brazil.
A 43-year-old Brazilian, Umeoka graduated in
petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University and has
extensive international experience, starting his
professional career in Angola, Africa. From 1986 to 1995
he directed his own software house -- Wild West -- which
became the first Microsoft corporate representative in
Latin America. In 1995, Umeoka accepted an invitation to
work at Compaq where, three years later, he moved to
Houston (USA) to work as the President of the
Commercial PC division for Latin America. On February
2000, he returned to Brazil to take on the presidency of
Compaq's subsidiary, managing the company to leadership
of the server and desktop markets. In June 2002 Umeoka
was appointed General Manager of Microsoft Brazil.
In an annual award run by Brazil's leading business
newspaper, Valor Econômico, Umeoka was voted Executivo
de Valor for four consecutive years, and was recognized
as the best professional in the IT market.
Umeoka lives in Singapore with his wife Miriam and two
daughters Fernanda and Natalia.
Vice-President
(Sales and Marketing) for Microsoft in Asia Pacific, Ken
Wye Saw is responsible for the sales and marketing
functions for the regional operations at Microsoft.
Prior to this role, Ken was the President for Southeast
Asia for two years since Oct 2004, and had held direct
responsibilities for providing strategic direction with
Microsoft's marketing, sales, operational and business
development efforts in emerging markets.
Saw Ken Wye was also the General Manager for
Communications Sector for Microsoft in Asia Pacific,
Greater China and Japan regions from 2001 to 2004 where
he was responsible for driving vertical sales strategies
for network service providers. This entailed working
closely with telecommunication companies, Internet
Service Providers and Application Service Providers to
take advantage of cost effective Microsoft based
solutions. Equally important was his focus on working
together with the services providers in creating new
markets and services for connected businesses and
consumers.
Ken was previously Managing Director of Microsoft
Singapore from 1997 to 2001.
Actively involved in the local Singapore IT community
Saw serves on the board of the Infocomm Development
Authority and on the advisory committees of several
Singapore-based institutions of higher education. Saw
had also served as the Chairman of the Singapore
Infocomm Technology Federation. He was also with the
National Computer Board for 14 years, his last
appointment there being Assistant Chief Executive
(Industry). His notable contributions during his
National Computer Board days include playing a key role
in driving national projects such as Singapore ONE and
IT2000.
Ken graduated from the University of Strathclyde, United
Kingdom with a BSC (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and
a MSC in Operational Research.
Christine Teinturier joined Microsoft Asia Pacific on July 1, 2008 as the Regional Finance Director. She is responsible for driving regional growth, profitability as well as engaging with partners, customers and employees.
Before joining the Asia Pacific region, Christine spent six years at Microsoft France as the Senior Finance Director delivering finance insight and business excellence to Microsoft's Sales Marketing and Service Group, Entertainment and Devices Division and Online Services businesses.
Her prior Microsoft experience includes a role as the Head of Finance at Zeneca Pharma France; where she handled the merger with Astra, to become the Chief Financial Officer of the French entity for the newly formed AstraZeneca, a leading pharmaceutical company.
Christine is a graduate of Ecole Superieure de Gestion in Paris. Her hobbies include golf, photography and travel.
