Shree Chanakya Education Society (SCES), Pune, was established in 1994, with the explicit vision to provide sustainable impetus to the corporate and entrepreneurial abilities in the youth. But the existing e-mail service at SCES was not user friendly, and the administration wanted to provide a better solution to help students stay in touch with peers and communicate with faculty. They chose Microsoft® Live@edu, a set of Web-based communication and collaboration services. Students are excited about the new solution’s reliability. It provides them more storage space per e-mail account and access to online storage with Windows Live™ SkyDrive. Students are using Live@edu to get better organized, improve communications with their professors, and create online study groups so they are better prepared for class.

Located in the heart of India's premier educational centre, the city of Pune, Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL) is a centre of excellence, offering quality distance education. Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec) promotes the latest technology to ensure students’ readiness for the work world. In addition, the institute wanted to extend the life of its desktop hardware, so it adopted the Windows® 7 operating system. With Windows 7, Wintec staff and students can be more productive, thanks to an improved user experience. Plus, Wintec will delay retiring at least 200 computers, saving upwards of U.S $225,000.

The New South Wales Department of Education and Training decided to give high school students and teachers a computer as part of the Australian government’s Digital Education Revolution initiative. To give students access to the latest technology, the department has begun upgrading its computers to the Windows® 7 operating system. As a result, the department has improved the educational experience, reduced costs for new devices, and enhanced IT security.

South Australia–based Westminster School is one of Adelaide’s leading independent schools, providing coeducation to some 1,200 students, from Early Learning through to Year 12. Antarctica New Zealand has deployed SmartAsset software from The Online Workshop to support maintenance and asset management at its Scott Base research station. Using the software along with handheld devices, engineers ensure that equipment essential to the well-being of employees in severe conditions is always reliable. Better asset management also increases fuel efficiency that reduce energy costs and minimise carbon emissions at the base itself.

The Quit Group is a charitable trust that provides smoking cessation programs for New Zealanders. The Quit Group was tasked by the New Zealand Ministry of Health to deliver and evaluate a text message-based smoking cessation solution to reach out to young smokers and help them quit smoking. With help from Microsoft® Certified Partner HSAGlobal, The Quit Group deployed STOMP (Stop smoking Over Mobile Phone), a text message-based smoking cessation solution built on Microsoft® SQL Server® 2005 and Microsoft® .NET Framework version 3.0. The solution, renamed as ‘Txt2Quit’, has had a high impact on health and wellness by helping smokers in New Zealand to quit smoking, and augments The Quit Group’s range of smoking cessation programs.
