Create an online photo album
Because MSN Spaces makes it so easy to upload, edit, store, and share photos, one of the first tasks most of us do is create a photo album of our favorite images. Some people create photo blogs that are more about images than text and upload photos from all over—posting the latest images from cell phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), webcams, and scanners and showing the world what's happening in their lives.
What makes a good photo album? The answer is, just about anything—any topic, person, place, or event that you want to share. You might create a photo album to show the 10 finest photos from your best friend's wedding shower. Or you might create a photo album about the weekend you took your son to camp. Or you might simply have one photo album for each of your best friends—or your pets. Whatever the topic of the album, the idea is to group photos in such a way that the folks viewing them will understand how they're connected. You might even simply do a "day-in-the-life" photo album that shows images you captured throughout a single day.
If you don't have your own MSN Space, go to http://spaces.msn.com and sign up today! It's free, it's easy, and with your own MSN Space, you'll have plenty of space to share your favorite photos, stories, and more.
When you're ready to create a photo album for your space, follow these steps:
1. | Click Edit Your Space in the upper-right corner of your space. |
2. | Click the Create link that appears beneath the Photo Album heading. |
3. | In the Create Photo Album window, enter a name for the photo album that you're creating. |
4. | Now click Add Photos at the top of the New Album window. The Add Photos window appears so that you can choose the photos that you want to include in your new album (see Figure 1).  Figure 1: Click Add Photos to choose the photos that you want to add to your album. |
5. | Using the folder list in the left panel of the Add Photos window, navigate to the folder containing the photos that you want to add. |
6. | Click the checkbox in the upper-left corner of a photo to select it. Click any additional photos that you want to include in the photo album (see Figure 2).  Figure 2: Select the photos that you want to upload and click Upload Now. |
7. | Click Upload Now to add the selected photo(s) to your blog. A status window shows you what's happening as the photos are copied to your space. When the window closes, you're returned to the New Album window. |
8. | Click Save and Close to save your album and view it on your space (Figure 3).  Figure 3: The photos are displayed in a Slide Show on your space. |
To get the full effect of your new album, click Preview My Space to cycle through the images you've added. That's it! Now you can invite everyone you know to come see all your favorite photos. Have fun!
