Company Information
Microsoft was founded in 1975 in Seattle, Washington. Our Australian subsidiary was founded in 1983 employing only 20 people. Today, Microsoft Australia employs over 800 people working in capital cities across Australia, as well as ninemsn (a PBL and Microsoft joint venture) and Microsoft's Xbox business.
  • Over 14,000 Australian businesses sell, implement, maintain or develop technology solutions running on Microsoft platforms.
  • We estimate, for every $1 Microsoft generates in revenue, our Australian partners generate almost $11 in revenue.
  • We estimate, by 2010, Microsoft partners are expected to account for around 40% of the total employment in the Australian IT industry.
