About Cairns Convention Centre
The Cairns Convention Centre is centrally located in the heart of Cairns with accommodation, shopping, dining and nightlife all within walking distance.
The Cairns Convention Centre has 239 undercover parking spaces including 7 identified disabled car parking places. Entrance to the car park is via Sheridan Street and the cost is $4.00 per entry.
All public areas of the Centre can be accessed by wheelchair. Disabled car parking is also available at the Centre.
Taxis can be hailed or booked in advance. They are reasonably priced and readily available at the airport, railway stations, coach terminals and central points within the City. The Cairns Convention Centre also has a “taxi direct” telephone.

Getting to and from the Airport
A number of travel options are available from Cairns Airport to the city centre which is only a short 5-10 minute trip.
Cairns has a public bus system that services the city, suburbs and beaches. The Sunbus website contains more details: http://www.sunbus.com.au/sit_cairns.htm
Sun Palm Transport Group operates airport shuttle bus services to hotels and the city centre.
Pick up point is immediately in front of the arrivals area at both terminals and there is an information desk within the terminal, which if not staffed, has direct-dial telephone. No pre-booking is required.

Rental car offices are located in the new arrivals facility at the northern end of T2 (Domestic Terminal). Rental car parking is located in the northern end of the T2 (Domestic) carpark. The hire car companies located on airport are: Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Redspot, Thrifty
