Case Study

Using the Microsoft platform and iSOFT's health management solution, Hunter Area Health Services (HAHS) has deployed an integrated information system to improve the sharing of patients' records.

Staff in 12 hospitals now have access to electronic appointment and outpatient booking, theatre management and electronic discharge information at the bedside.

The User Interface is highly intuitive and provides access to information and applications from a range of devices such as PDAs, Tablet PCs, and smart phones. HAHS has so far migrated 1.2 million records from the legacy systems to provide easy-to-use information tools for clinicians. Theatre staff can now retrieve patient information and history covering approximately 4,000 attendances and more than 1,000 surgical procedures per month.
