The world's hottest student technology competition

Check out the Aussie team who took out the national title at last year’s Imagine Cup!

The Imagine Cup

The Imagine Cup is a competition for tertiary student teams who combine their passion, creativity and technical know-how to tackle some of the world's toughest problems using technology. It's a chance to unleash imagination, win amazing prizes, kick-start careers and network with the industry's best.

Last year alone, over 325,000 students registered globally - and 2012 is shaping up to be bigger than ever. Best of all, the worldwide finals are taking place right here on Australian soil!

How does a Cash Grant sound?

Winning teams receive cash prizes, mentoring and other support to help make their dreams a reality. Past winners have attracted venture capital and opened businesses based on their entries. At the 2011 Imagine Cup worldwide finals, cash prizes of $215 000 and a $3 million, 3-year grant were awarded to 15 global finalists.

Help make a real difference

Previous winners have come up with a diverse range of ideas, including an application that helps search-and-rescue teams coordinate their efforts during natural disasters, a video game encouraging people to volunteer, and navigation software allowing physically disabled people to overcome obstacles by identifying barrier-free routes through cities.

Take your place as a future leader

Making it to the finals has kick-started many careers. For hundreds of students, the experience gained while developing their ideas, the confidence that comes with presenting their innovations, and the access to influential business leaders have been life-changing.
