Round 1 Submission Requirements:

Round 1 Submission Deadline: 13 March 2012

For Round 1, all teams competing must create a Preliminary Summary of their idea and how it aligns to the Imagine Cup 2012 Theme, and submit it to the Imagine Cup Website. You can enter more than one idea, but only one will be chosen to proceed to Round 2.


Round 2 Submission Requirements:

Round 2 Submission Deadline: 10 April 2012

For Round 2, teams must submit one Software Design Video that meets the requirements stated in points 10 and 11 of the terms and conditions, a 1-page executive summary, application executable and readme files, project specifications (up to 5 pages), and a visual representation of the system architecture – an emulator is accepted.

  1. Your app must run on the Microsoft .NET Framework. You may use any version of .NET Framework.
  2. Your team’s app must be developed using at least one of the products within the Visual Studio family
    (Express, Standard, Professional, or Team System) for development.
  3. Your Team’s application must be fully functional and implemented. (Ideas for a software application or
    software applications that are not fully developed will not be eligible.)
  4. Your team’s app must utilise features of at least one of the following elements:
    1. Either an implementation or the consumption of an XML Web Service
    2. Windows 7
    3. Windows 8 Developer Preview
    4. Windows Live SDK
    5. Use of Windows Phone technologies
    6. Windows Phone SDK
    7. Xbox Kinect SDK
    8. Use of Windows Embedded technologies
    9. Silverlight
    10. Azure for implementing a S+S architecture application
    11. Windows MultiPoint Mouse SDK
    12. Windows Touch technologies and use of Windows Touch API’s and events

Aussie Finals

Preliminary judging will select 5 teams on 19 April 2012. These teams will go to the Aussie Final on 1 May 2012, where they’ll compete against each other by presenting and demonstrating their apps and ideas in an open forum. Teams must include a 20-minute presentation and will participate in a Q&A session with the judging panel.

All place winners of the Software Design Aussie Comp will be chosen at the Aussie Final. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

The winner of the Aussie Comp will go to the Worldwide Finals to compete in July.
