Throw Away the Batteries!

Microsoft Unveils First Rechargeable Notebook Mouse with Built in Flash Memory

Sydney, Australia – Thursday 6 December, 2007 – Microsoft Hardware today announced they are taking mobile computing to a new level with the Mobile Memory Mouse 8000, a rechargeable notebook mouse with 1 GB of flash memory built right into the transceiver!

This three-in-one super tool cuts down on clutter and frees USB ports. Designed to prevent USB port shortage, the single transceiver lets users work wirelessly, save important files with 1 GB of storage and recharge the mouse all through one USB port.

“With the continued rise in notebook sales, there is a huge demand for smart peripherals that help mobile users get their work done more efficiently and the Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 combines three key tools into one stylish device,” said Scott Jackson, Hardware Product Marketing Manager, Microsoft Australia.

“Over the past 25 years Microsoft Hardware has consistently raised the bar of innovation, and adding a gigabyte of memory to the mouse transceiver is truly a computing milestone. We’ve packed more memory into the transceiver than an entire computer had 25 years ago,” said Mr. Jackson.

The mouse also features 2.4GHz wireless technology, as well as a selectable Bluetooth mode, battery status indicator on the mouse, an On/Off switch, proprietary High Definition Laser Technology, and the new Windows Flip 3D button that gives users instant access to the popular Windows Vista feature.1The mouse also features a Tilt Wheel and two side buttons (Magnifier and Back) so customers can enjoy a highly efficient and top-of-the-line notebook mouse.

Made for People on the Go
Computing on the go has never been more productive; with the Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 freeing up USB ports and delivering the tools consumers need to get the job done in one sleek, compact device. With the added convenience of 1 GB of storage in the mouse transceiver, users can easily store the information they need on the go — whether it’s their favourite photos, PowerPoint® presentations or even music files#.

Combining Brains and Beauty
All the functionality of the Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 is packed into a design of pure elegance and complete comfort. Microsoft’s first right-handed notebook mouse offers many comfort-boosting features, including a sculpted right-handed shape, a deep thumb scoop and a curved top surface for hours of comfortable use. With black high-gloss surfaces and real metal finishes, it’s the sleekest notebook mouse available. A carrying case completes the package, holding and protecting the mouse, transceiver and charging cable.

The Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 will be widely available in December 2007 for a recommended retail price of $149.95* and is backed by a thr ee-year limited hardware warranty from Microsoft Corp.
