Microsoft names Dell Large Account Reseller and Enterprise Software Advisor for Australia

Dell Australia now able to sell enterprise-wide Microsoft agreements to Australian customers

Sydney, Australia – Thursday, 03 July, 2008: Microsoft today announced a partnership with Dell Australia, naming it a Large Account Reseller (LAR) and Enterprise Software Advisor (ESA) for Australia.

According to Mr Paul Voges, Director of Small and Mid Market Solutions & Partner Group, Microsoft Australia, the announcement signalled an extension of the already strong relationship between Microsoft Australia and Dell Australia and would provide Australian organisations with more licensing options and greater flexibility.

“With Dell’s proven strong track record in selling solutions, it’s natural for both companies to look at ways to better serve customers in Australia with more software licensing and purchasing options,” said Mr Voges.

Mr Bernie Kelly, General Manager of Sales for Dell Australia, said: “Dell’s mission is to simplify IT for customers and we provide solutions that enable businesses to remove cost and complexity from their IT operations.

“Being able to include organisation-wide agreements for Microsoft software in our mix of products and services helps us to provide more streamlined solutions to our customers,” he said.

As a LAR and ESA, Dell Australia will be able to offer greater choice in licensing solutions through its ability to offer Enterprise and Select volume license agreements. For example, small and medium sized businesses have not typically taken advantage of higher-end volume licensing options, which are more widely used by enterprise customers. This partnership provides Dell Australia and Microsoft Australia with ample scope to add more value in this segment.
