Microsoft Australia today announced the appointment of Mr Craig Foster as Enterprise and Partner Director.
In this role Mr Foster will have responsibility for directing and managing Microsoft Australia’s business with its enterprise customers and partners, helping Australian Institutions realise the value proposition and vision that Microsoft’s technology enables. Mr Foster moves into the role that was vacated by Ms Pip Marlow who was appointed Managing Director of Microsoft Australia in January.
“I’m delighted to announce that Craig has been appointed as Enterprise and Partner Group Director,” said Pip Marlow, Managing Director, Microsoft Australia. “Craig has an extremely strong background in both commercial and Public Sector engagement and understands the needs of our customers and partners in this segment. I look forward to working with him as a valued member of Microsoft Australia’s senior leadership team and seeing the continued great results as he takes on this new challenge.”
Mr Foster has worked with Microsoft Australia for six years. Prior to this appointment he was Education Director and before that he held the roles of Queensland State Director and then Government Industry Director. Prior to his career with Microsoft, Mr Foster spent 10 years with NCR and AT&T in commercial and retail sales management roles and was ANZ General Manager for Retail Sales at Siemens Nixdorf and a Sales Director at PeopleSoft and Avanade.
“I’m excited to take the lead on such an important part of Microsoft’s business in Australia as we work closely with our customers and partners on their transition to the cloud,” said Mr Foster. “The business agility being achieved by Microsoft Australia’s cloud customers and the innovation coming from some of our smallest, regional development partners is best practice. In order to fully leverage Microsoft’s massive cloud research & development program, we will continue to invest in our local team and partners to build and refine our cloud transition skills. In doing so, we hope to see continued momentum from Australian businesses embracing the cloud for cost savings and innovation.”
Mr Foster currently represents Microsoft on the Federal Government’s Business-Schools Education Roundtable and previously was a member of the Advisory for the Minister of State Development in Queensland.
Mr Foster will be based in Melbourne where he lives with his wife Sylvia and son Callum. He is a Commerce graduate of Melbourne University and attended Babson College’s Entrepreneur Development Program in Germany.
