MELBOURNE, Australia, Tuesday, May 20, 2003

Abstract:
Dimension Data Learning Solutions' (DDLS) Victorian branch has announced that it is the first company in Australia to become a Microsoft's Gold Certified Partner for Learning Solutions. This certification marks DDLS as one of only 98 companies to have achieved this status worldwide.

Press Release:
The company was chosen as a Gold Partner in recognition of its commitment to and close work with Microsoft to deliver world-class training solutions.  DDLS offers IT training for medium to large enterprise organisations and has demonstrated proven success in deploying Microsoft .NET developer, information technology infrastructure, and customised training solutions.

DDLS is currently working with Microsoft to pursue Gold Partner certification across its other state branches. The company's general manager, Steve Ross, believes the Melbourne office is well placed to take on the initial responsibility.

"Microsoft Gold Partner status in Learning Solutions is essential to DDLS rising to the next level in the IT training market," said Mr Ross. "Our Victorian branch is key to this success and is in the right position, given the State Government's commitment to innovation and technology."

The Victorian Government has committed to building the state as a location for world class science and technology, as launched in its Innovation Statement of 2002.

"We have enjoyed a fruitful relationship with Microsoft for some time," Mr Ross added. "Gold Partner status strengthens this relationship by providing access to additional technical and marketing resources that will help us assess, design and implement Microsoft learning-focused solutions for our customers.  We also get access to sneak previews of technology soon to be available, which helps us to stay ahead of the game when planning customer solutions in the training market.

DDLS currently employs 34 full time Microsoft Certified Trainers to deliver customised solutions across Australasia. Nine of these are located in the Melbourne office.

"Today's customers demand to be up-to-date on the latest technology and how it works - IT training gives them this opportunity," said Kerstin Baxter, National Channels Manager, Microsoft Australia. "For a Gold Partner in Learning Solutions we need a respected and strong company with a proven track record using Microsoft products. Across the region, DDLS has developed and successfully conducted new IT training programs for more than five years - these programs have resulted in an influx of a large number of Microsoft Certified Professionals into the local IT industry. It is a mutually beneficial partnership and Microsoft welcomes DDLS to the Gold Partner Program."
