An invitation to celebrate ‘Partners in Learning' in the ACT CANBERRA, Australia, 27 June 2005
Ms Katy Gallagher MLA, The Australian Capital Territory Minister for Education and Training, and Microsoft Australia will launch a new education assistance programme known as ‘Partners in Learning' in Canberra on Friday 1 July at 11.25 am.
The joint education initiative will assist government schools throughout the ACT to implement contemporary teaching practices using the latest advances in information technology. Encompassing four distinct elements, Partners in Learning will facilitate the implementation of contemporary learning pedagogies employing technology as a central part of the classroom, help teachers to showcase and share best practices associated with using technology in learning, and enable teachers to become mentors for their colleagues in the use of technology as a learning tool in the classroom.

Partners in Learning is a partnership between State and Territory Governments and Microsoft Australia to deliver information technology skills and training to Australian schools. Microsoft Australia is investing $AU10 million in cash and resources in Partners in Learning over the next five years, part of a worldwide commitment to teachers and students.
