SYDNEY, Australia, 9 March 2004
Microsoft Australia today announced the general availability of Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2 to the Australian market at Customer Contact World 2004 held at the Sydney Convention Centre, Darling Harbour.
Microsoft CRM was built from the ground up on the Microsoft .NET Framework and is designed specifically for small and mid-sized businesses, as well as divisions of large enterprises, to maximise productivity and increase efficiency in sales and customer service.
During the keynote address, Ross Dembecki, Lead Product Manager, Microsoft Business Solutions Australasia, introduced the product to more than 500 marketing, sales and customer service managers attending the conference and provided an in-depth look at how Microsoft CRM can help improve business operations.
"The strong attendance at Customer Contact World reflects the excitement and enthusiasm we are seeing among our partners and customers for the development of a CRM solution for the small and mid market," said Mr. Dembecki. "Microsoft CRM will provide our strong network of partners and independent software vendors with a base platform on which to build and extend customised vertical solutions across a broad array of industries."
Early adopter customers who have begun implementing Microsoft CRM in Australia include Linfox Logistics Group, leading adhesive supplier tesa tape Australia, online DVD rental company Quickflix, Teco, the world's leading electric motor producer and Bullseye Internet Solutions.
According to Will Arnott, Linfox Executive General Manager Supply Chain, Business Development and Marketing, the decision to go with Microsoft CRM was an easy one.
"We needed to update our existing CRM solution to improve visibility of our customer interactions and enhance our decision-making ability regarding customer opportunities along with our resource allocation methods," said Mr. Arnott.
"As we have standardised on the Microsoft platform, we saw Microsoft CRM as a natural progression which would enable us to leverage our previous investment in other Microsoft technologies," he said. "We now have complete visibility into our customer relationships which is critical to growing our business."
Other early adopter customers also welcomed the introduction of Microsoft CRM to the Australian market.
"We've found in our industry, CRM adoption has been slow. If we develop our business incorporating CRM, we'll be a step ahead of the competition. We'll be more effective, more responsive to customers and make our sales force as proactive as possible," said Mr. Dennis Pike, Managing Director, tesa tape Australia.
"A robust and flexible product, we see Microsoft CRM enabling Bullseye to focus on qualifying leads and sharing sales history across different transactions, resulting in an overall improvement in our ability to track complex sales and produce qualified pipeline reports," said Bullseye Internet Solution's Technical Director, Mr. Michael Chanter.
