Microsoft Australia strengthens enterprise push with appointment of Financial Services Group Director

Microsoft Australia today announced the appointment of Colin Timm to the role of Director of Financial Services. The newly created role demonstrates Microsoft's ongoing commitment to meeting the technology needs of Australian enterprises.
With over 10 years experience in the financial services industries in both South Africa and Australia, Mr. Timm will be responsible for driving Microsoft's financial services strategy and demonstrating the value of the Microsoft platform.
Reporting to Gary Cox, Director, Enterprise Business Microsoft Australia, the role is part of Microsoft's focus on the key vertical markets of finance, telecommunications and government.
"Colin brings great strengths to Microsoft in terms of his long standing relationships and deep industry knowledge of the Australian financial services industry. This newly created role supports our ongoing focus to build stronger strategic partnerships and deliver the right solutions for our financial services clients," said Gary Cox, Director, Enterprise Business Microsoft Australia.
Prior to joining Microsoft Mr. Timm spent eight years with Sun Microsystems where he held senior management roles in both Australia and South Africa. He has also worked for Unisys South Africa undertaking various management roles over a period of five years.
Mr. Timm holds a B.Sc (Engineering) from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
