Microsoft Hardware and Razer launch a whole new species of PC gaming devices to meet growing demand

Sydney, Australia – 4 December, 2006 – From the depths of the gaming jungle Microsoft Hardware and Razer have teamed up to create a new species in gaming, the Microsoft Habu Gaming Mouse delivering the ultimate experience for gamers. Named after a Japanese pit viper, the Microsoft Habu Gaming Mouse is the latest high performance pedigree from Microsoft Hardware, a direct descendent of Microsoft’s award-winning mouse design, crossbred with Razer’s renowned gaming features.

The Habu provides the ultimate in adjustable-sensitivity and is designed for all levels of PC gamers. The Habu slithers with ease across the desktop with dynamic movement enhancing aim and tracking ability for low sensitivity players. Habu is made to perfectly fit gamers’ needs and hand positioning, this mouse comes with two interchangeable side panels allowing users to customise the position of their side buttons, allowing for total gaming control.

The Habu has a 2,000 DPI laser engine and always-on laser to give gamers the control edge with a near-zero response time. The always-on mode provides gamers with virtually no latency and gamers can strike with ease. They can also adjust the DPI on the fly for precision targeting which allows for controlled sensitivity.

The Habu has high-speed motion detection which lets gamers get their speed on and assault the gaming world with movement of up to 45 inches per second and 20G acceleration. With an on-board profile memory to enable gamers to store up to five game control profiles, the Habu is the perfect addition to any gamers desktop.

The Habu’s ergonomic design with large, rubber- coated buttons enables a comfortable, user-friendly and slip-resistant grip to gamers. To deliver the speed of wired and the feel of wireless, Habu comes with a thin, flexible wire and gold-plated USB connector, granting superior conductivity with minimum response time. The Habu’s Ultra-slick Teflon feet let gamers enjoy smooth and quiet gliding and the ergonomic design features GlowPipe™ illuminated side rails and large, rubber-coated buttons.

“We are excited to partner with Razer to combine form and function in order to deliver the best gaming products possible,” said Scott Jackson Hardware Product Marketing Manager, Microsoft Australia. “The Habu is an evolution resulting from this collaboration to deliver a truly great gaming experience and is available in stores now.”

Microsoft is also excited to release the latest in a series of extreme mouse makeover with the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. Built on the original IntelliMouse Explorer design, this mouse delivers maximum precision and superior control for gameplay on the PC. Its ergonomic design and wide footprint provide outstanding comfort and stability, and extraordinary tracking accuracy delivers superior reliability and performance, making this mouse ideal for gaming. With its new look and feel, IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 still has all the great features that gamers have been demanding and now includes improved mouse feet for smoother gliding.
