New website locates Microsoft partners based on skills and location
Sydney, Australia – Tuesday, 4 July 2006– Microsoft Australia today announced its Find a Partner website to connect Australian businesses with local Microsoft partners who can provide third-party software, solutions, services or training based on Microsoft technologies
Find a Partner will assist customers to find partners that are best suited to fulfil their business needs, that are in the right location; and who have the right skills and expertise to get their job done.
“Microsoft Australia has more than 14,000 partner organisations that build and develop on our software to implement IT solutions to solve a myriad of business problems that businesses commonly encounter.
“Our customers have told us they find it difficult to locate and connect with local solution providers that have the specialist skills to solve their business problems. So we are one of the first Microsoft subsidiaries to have built a website that helps them locate the right Microsoft partner that can provide the skills to address their technology needs. We hope our efforts will create best practice for other Microsoft subsidiaries,” said Ms Kerstin Baxter, Partner Group Director, Microsoft Australia.
Find a Partner allows customers to find the information and tools they need to locate a Microsoft Certified or Gold Certified Partner quickly and easily. It allows them to identify Microsoft partners by their Microsoft Solutions Competencies, including how a Microsoft partner can help their business, what to look for when selecting a partner, how to find a partner in their area and details for Microsoft Small Business Specialists who specialise in small business solutions using Microsoft technology.
“Choosing the right technology providers for a business can be confusing, especially when a large number of companies provide similar services. This website will help businesses ensure they access the provider with the best fit for their needs,” said Ms Baxter.
Australian businesses can also follow a Microsoft developed checklist of questions when contracting a technology company, to ensure the company’s experience, certifications and references meet their requirements regardless of their size..
“The Find a Partner website is also useful for small businesses looking for technology providers because they can search for partners qualified as a Microsoft Small Business Specialist. These small business experts understand the pain points of small businesses and are equipped to help,” said Ms Baxter..
To join the Microsoft Partner Program partners must first meet the program requirements. This gives customers peace of mind knowing the technology specialist is trained, informed and accredited.
