Bruno Fiorentini Jnr joins Microsoft Australia to head Consumer & Online division

Microsoft Australia today announced the appointment of Bruno Fiorentini Jnr as the general manager of the Consumer and Online division (C&O) in Australia.

Bruno Fiorentini will drive Microsoft Australia's consumer strategies, business integration and operational leadership for Windows, Windows Phone 7, ninemsn, Windows Live, and Bing. He reports to Tracey Fellows, area vice president Microsoft Asia Pacific.

"Bruno's immersion in and passion for the online world makes him the ideal candidate to lead Microsoft's consumer and online division in Australia," commented Tracey Fellows. "He not only brings to Microsoft a strong breadth of online experience but also dedicated leadership and business acumen. I'm delighted to be working closely with him and his team as we continue to build on a strong and exciting consumer offering."

Bruno Fiorentini joins Microsoft following an eleven year career at Yahoo! in Australia and South America. Most recently, Mr Fiorentini was chief operations officer for Yahoo!7 in Australia. He is also a board advisor at Hyperlocalizer, vice-president of the Australia Brazil Chamber of Commerce, and chairman of Comunique-se.

"My new role will concentrate on customer satisfaction, product share, revenue and growth of our consumer and online division. My team is absolutely committed to telling the story of how we connect consumers with what they want, value and love using Microsoft software," he said.

Born in Brazil, Bruno lives in Sydney with his wife and three children having relocated four years ago. In this time he has embraced Sydney's lifestyle and counts himself a fan of the Sydney Roosters Rugby League team.

Bruno Forentini replaces Alex Stewart who has been appointed chief financial officer of ninemsn.
