In the world of technology and cyberspace, it is important for teachers and parents to continually educate students and children to think critically about online content and what to look for when identifying if a Web site might be harmful. Here are some things you can do to help your students avoid harmful content online:
1. Duty of care for students under 18 years:
a. Filter internet access using Microsoft ISA and Microsoft Antigen
b. Monitor website access using ISA (full logging of sites visited)
c. Provide private Instant Messaging using Live Communications Server, with logging of chat (alternative to web-based instant messaging including MSN, Yahoo! Etc.)

2 .Educate students on Internet threats and risks:
a. Knowing who you chat to
b. Only download from known sites
c. Cyber Bullying
d. Posting photographs on the internet (eg. Sporting events) and restricting access
e. Leverage some of the ICT Curriculum
