Developer Tools Roadmap |
|
Where
will the product groups be steering Visual Studio .NET and the Microsoft .NET
Framework in future releases? What enhancements can be expected in the tools?
What changes should you anticipate as you invest time and money into development
tools, practices and support, and the run-time infrastructure to support
application deployments? This page contains a summary of our plan for Visual
Studio .NET and the .NET Framework over the next two releases.

Microsoft .NET Data Provider for Oracle
|
|
The recently released new .NET Managed Data Provider for
Oracle databases can dramatically improve the performance of .NET applications
running against Oracle backend databases. The new provider can be
downloaded by customers. The provider is similar to the .NET Managed
Provider for SQL Server in that it extends the .NET Framework and works in
conjunction with ADO.NET. The new provider is easy to use, and is referenced via
the System.Data.OracleClient classes.
