During this TechNet Roadshow, as part of the Springboard Series, you’ll get to know a set of Microsoft’s software tools to address the desktop management challenges. There will be live demonstrations of:
- Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) 2008. This demonstration illustrates how MDT 2008 can help customers reduce the number of images they maintain and simplify deployment by producing thin images, which the customer can configure by using the deployment database.
- Group Policy preferences. This demonstration shows the new Group Policy preferences extension to Group Policy. This extension opens new ways in which IT Pros can manage settings, files, and so on. It also better enables IT Pros to build thin images that they configure post-deployment.
- Microsoft Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM). This demonstration describes how AGPM, which is part of the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP), adds a robust workflow (including delegation, rollback, and version control) to Group Policy management.
- Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset (DaRT). This demonstration illustrates the capabilities of this tool included in MDOP, which helps IT Pros diagnose and recovery client computers that fail to start.
