Windows Vista Virtual Folders and Search
With Windows Vista, you no longer have to remember where you store every file. Instead, to find a file, you need only remember something about it, such as a word contained within a document, the artist of a song, or the date a picture was taken.
Windows Vista also introduces Search Folders, a powerful new tool that makes it easy to find and organize your files—wherever they may be on your PC. A Search Folder is simply a search that you save. Opening a Search Folder instantly runs that saved search, displaying up-to-date results immediately.

My role at Microsoft India is that of an ‘IT Pro Evangelist’ as a part of which I need to talk about the upcoming technologies at Microsoft, showcase the new features, innovations, and how they relate to the lives of the IT Professionals.
My first interface with Windows Vista happened in February 2006, just 10 days after I joined Microsoft, in the IT Professionals Conference. I came to see how we do the offline events and what it takes in the background to set it rolling. On the night of the first day, when the stage was being set for the next day, an idea struck to our panel of technical content owners to stage a closing keynote a little differently. We came up with an idea to shoot out a couple of quick demonstrations on Windows Vista (which was still in its pre Beta1 stage!).
Well, we decided to take our chances and surprisingly I was told to lead this assignment of deciding upon ‘what to showcase’ and how!

Getting in the Groove
