DEMO serves as a launchpad for companies, helping them secure venture funding, establish critical business relationships, and influence early adopters.

Microsoft BizSpark teamed up with DEMO to offer select scholarships to DEMO Fall 2012 for startups to launch their venture: four lucky companies will be delivering a six-minute pitch on stage this week, and an additional eight startups, for a total of twelve, will be exhibiting in the BizSpark pavilion. Recipients of the scholarships for DEMO Fall have innovative solutions for Cloud, Mobile, Consumer, Enterprise and Infrastructure..

Play My Tone is an innovative company from Israel who is building a new experience of engagement with digital music. Play My Tone's main differentiator resides in its ability to dismiss all annoying technical difficulties and user frustrations associated with digital music mixing, leaving the user to play with the fun stuff only. Powered by patent pending novel technology, the company's product, Tonify, allows the most unskilled user to mix his favorite music into multi-layer, personalized hi-fi mix in less than 30 seconds and legally share it with his friends. Play My Tone actually introduces a new level of engagement with digital music, which stands out compare to other digital music apps currently on the different app stores.

 

Social27 is a social software startup located in Redmond (Seattle). The Social27 suite of products includes event software, eLearning, virtual job fairs, and online community solutions. Their software as service solutions are developed and delivered on Microsoft's cloud platform, Windows Azure. The latest solution being showcased at DEMO is the Eventbrite for eLearning. The company's solution aims to ignite virtual classrooms with a social learning experience like no other. It enables users to plan, schedule, sell /conduct classes and reward  students.

   
   

Trinity Bidding provides cloud bidding and procurement solutions to small to medium enterprises. Trinity Bidding Procurement Platform allows enterprise procurement teams to have a global perspective with its multi-language and multi-currency capabilities. The company's solution is flexible and offers collaborative sharing, powerful analytic tools and link to a supplier and product catalogs. The company has offices around the world, including Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Zepppelin is a US-based company that builds activity streams for small businesses. The company's solution allows communication and collaboration on important messages from cloud based applications - all in one place. Zepppelin's product is analogous to a Twitter stream with important updates from teams and several other cloud applications used in the workplace.

Callision is a US-based company with an innovative cloud based product with an integrated web based product for call centers. There is no integrated easy-to-use web-based software for call centers on the market today. Callision was founded with a sole purpose of making business communications easier. Curvanade Mobile is a company based in Sweden that have developed a  BaaS (Backend as a Service) product called CurvanadeMobile: an easy-to-use, fast and powerful backend that will take care of everything on the server side for mobile app developers so they can focus on building rich and cool apps for businesses or for consumers.  CurvanadeMobile is a game shifter when it comes to mobile app development. No more headache about how to store, search and push data. It is all taken care of by CurvanadeMobile. The founders are both ex-Microsoft employees and are currently leveraging Microsoft's latest technologies including Windows Phone, Windows Azure and Windows 8 to bring their innovative product to market.

     
 
     

Gorilla Expense is a US-based company with a solution that takes the pain out of travel expense reporting for companies and employees by automating the expense management process. In today's world of globalization, travel has become an unavoidable aspect of conducting business. Phorego is a Canadian company that's focused on building a social transport ecosystem. Users post their desired trip (and for the drivers, the desired fee and travel range) and Phorego's matching engine will match riders and drivers. Matches will be notified to the users in real time. Potential riders and drivers can then select the appropriate match(es) and 'like' it/them. If the match also 'likes' back, the trip is confirmed. The driver can then pick up the rider at the appointed time and place. Phorego will be available globally on major platforms such as Windows Phone, Apple iPhone, Android Phone, Windows 7 and Windows 8.

     
 
     

Scrible is a US-based company that develops online reading and research (web and mobile) apps. The company has a product launched as a freemium consumer web app that revolutionizes how information junkies and knowledge workers (students, lawyers, marketers, etc.) research online information.  Their solution empowers people to annotate web pages right in their browsers and save, share and manage them online.  This powerful productivity and collaboration app transforms how people work with online articles. At DEMO,Scrible will launch a fresh new product for a different purpose and a broader audience.The new product will allow users to  post selected passages from online articles to multiple social networks simultaneously in a frictionless manner  and enable users to  highlight the passages for others who follow linking to the original article so readers can see the quoted sections in context.

 

SQream is an Israeli company focused on the big data space with patent-pending technology that  runs large and/or complex data analytics extremely fast with massive parallel processing using GPUs boosting analytic engine performance. The company's  revolutionary technology enables processing and analyzing large volumes of data significantly faster than leading DBMSs and analytics solutions on the market today.  The SQream management team consist of veterans of enterprise software companies, HPC products, startups and the VC eco-systems.

     
 
     

Structum is a US-based technology company specializing in cloud computing and web technologies, with the mission of helping startups and small companies improve their execution through cloud automation. To achieve this mission Structum provides iKnode, a real-time back-end cloud platform for secure, flexible and scalable services built for mobile and web applications. iKnode helps businesses use the cloud to improve their applications without the need of a big budget and the skillset required to be successful in the cloud.  Specialties include distributed systems, enterprise systems integration, cloud computing and software development.

 

Ready, Set, Sync! is a US-based company launching TVtibi, an a-la-carte video streaming service. TVtibi will deliver individual channels to mobile devices, computers, and televisions in broadcast quality. The company's services are designed to give consumers only the channels they want at the prices they can afford. Imagine a world where consumers don't have to pay for a package of channels they never watch. A world where consumers watch their channels on any device that they own or take their television channels anywhere as they travel. TVtitbi will allow consumers to do just that.

     

Student Alpha Pitch Recipients

DEMO also makes a launchpad available to innovators at America's finest colleges and universities through its Student Alpha Pitch program. Full scholarships have been provided to ten deserving individuals and groups with meaningful new technologies ready for debut at DEMO Fall 2012. These very early stage ventures and ideas are always well-received by the DEMO audience and Alpha Pitches at DEMO Fall 2012 will no doubt continue to inspire and entertain.
