DEMO serves as a Launchpad for companies helping them secure venture funding, establish
critical business relationships and influence early adopters.
Microsoft BizSpark is a proud sponsor of DEMO. This year we are pleased to announce
that Windows is a Cornerstone DEMO sponsor and will be offering select scholarships
to DEMO Mobile 2013 startups set to launch their ventures. Two lucky companies will
be delivering a six-minute pitch on the DEMO stage, and an additional four startups
will be exhibiting in the DEMO pavilion.
How to apply for the scholarships?
To qualify for the scholarships, startups will
need to register for the ‘Windows Startup Challenge’ before January 29th and submit
a 2 minute demo video of their app OR relevant screenshots here.
Who is eligible to apply?
Any startup creating an innovative Windows Store app that
runs on Windows* tablets, laptops and PCs and is not yet publicly available in the
Store.
The Windows app can either be a brand new idea or an existing iOS, Android or Website
idea that is being re-imagined for the Windows platform.
*Please note that it is NOT a requirement to create a Windows Phone app. You won’t
be eligible for the scholarships if you only create a Windows Phone app instead
of a Windows 8 and RT app that runs on tablets, laptops and PCs.
What is the Windows Startup Challenge?
The Windows Startup Challenge is an initiative
for entrepreneurs focused on launching a startup – from prototyping, to development
to launch. The Windows Startup Challenge is a joint program between Windows, Startup
Weekend and DEMO Mobile.
The Challenge will test your startup’s ability to prototype your business solution
using a Windows Store app, build and bring your app to life and then give you the
chance to get noticed and launch your startup at DEMO stage on April 17th in front
of some serious seed and VC companies and reaching millions across the globe.
Good luck!
