2008 Blue Sky Awards Details & Rules
Development Requirements
- Microsoft Blue Sky Award entries must be based on solutions developed primarily using Microsoft software. While 100 percent use of Microsoft software is not required, the solution nominated should showcase the latest Microsoft technologies.
Entry Requirements
- All entries must be submitted electronically via the Blue Sky Awards online submission tool found at https://microsoftpartnerawards.com/Bluesky
- Entrants must be headquartered in Canada.
- Entrants must enter submissions associated with a Windows Live ID.
- Entries must be submitted in English. Please note: The software or solution can have been developed and implemented in any language; however, the submission itself (answers to all questions) must be in English.
- The entrant must be the rightful owner of the application and/or services solution and have management approval to submit the entry to the 2008 Blue Sky Awards. The individual submitting the entry will have to accept the Release Form with each award submission.
- Entrants must recognize all parties who were involved in the development of each submission, even if another company was involved in the development process.
- One award will be given, even if two or more companies were involved in the development of the submission.
- In the event that a third-party-packaged application is referenced in the submission, your organization must secure the permission of the third party to reference the application.
- Entrants may submit one entry for each solution.
- Complete entries must be submitted to Microsoft Canada Co. no later than May 15, 2008, 11:59 p.m. EST.
A panel of judges made up of Microsoft employees and an industry representative will evaluate the submissions on the bases of their innovative use of Microsoft technologies to solve a problem. Three finalists will be selected and invited to present their submissions to the judges in May, 2008. No more than two (2) people from each finalist organization can participate in the presentation. - Microsoft reserves the right to announce only a winner and no finalists for the Blue Sky Award.
- Entrants are not required to attend the 2008 ISV Leadership Summit on June 5, 2008, nor will their attendance affect the scoring of their submission. Only those entrants selected as finalists will be invited to attend the Microsoft ISV Leadership Summit on June 5, 2008. Attendance at the presentation gala is not a requirement and does not affect the scoring of submissions.
- Microsoft reserves the right to contact third parties for validation of submissions to the 2008 Blue Sky Awards.
- Microsoft reserves the right to change the rules and regulations without notice.
Finalist Requirements
- Finalists will be announced in May 2008, and must agree at that time to present to the judges. If no one is available or able to commit to participation after three contact attempts, the Blue Sky Awards administrator will notify the next runner-up and give that organization the opportunity to be a finalist.
- Finalists who choose to attend the 2008 ISV Leadership Summit are responsible for all travel and personal expenses associated with attending the event.
- All attendees at the presentation must be 19 years of age or older.
Winner Requirements
- The winner of the Blue Sky Award should be prepared to provide additional materials required for editorial or promotional purposes, and to help promote the Blue Sky Award. Additional materials may include, but are not limited to, screen captures, photographs of the development team, company logo (both on disk and a high-resolution printout), and video source.
Ineligible Entrants
Microsoft employees and their families are not eligible to enter the Microsoft Blue Sky Awards.
Microsoft Certified or Gold Certified Partners are not eligible to enter the Microsoft Blue Sky Awards.
