I CAN Software Donation Program

Microsoft Canada is thrilled to partner with TechSoup Stock, a nonprofit organization that provides technological solutions to other nonprofits and charities. The enhanced I CAN Software Donation Program will enable organizations that meet the giving guidelines to have access to the most current productivity applications available. How does the program work?

  • Microsoft Canada donates the software at no cost to TechSoup, who in turn provides the software to eligible organizations for a minimal fee to cover administrative costs.
  • The administrative fees allow TechSoup to continue to provide excellent customer service and technical support to their clients.
  • Nonprofits and charities may order up to 6 software titles per 2 year period, with a maximum of 50 licenses per title.
  • There must be at least 12 months in between each order - after 2 years has passed from the date of the original order, the limits will be reset.

Is my organization eligible?

  • Your organization must be either a registered charity with the Canadian Revenue Agency or a Canadian nonprofit that is incorporated at the provincial or federal level.

We're eligible - now what?

  1. Visit Join My TechSoup to create a unique username and password.
  2. Click here to login with your username and password and register your organization.
  3. Choose the person in your organization who will order the software and identify them as an authorized agent to order software - please follow the instructions in TechSoup's FAQs.

What Microsoft products are available?

  • There are many Microsoft products available through TechSoup for eligible organizations, including a wide variety of MS Servers, Windows Upgrades, and Office tools (such as MS Office Professional 2003).
  • The minimum order is 5 licenses in total. This can be accomplished through any combination of software titles.
  • Please note that TechSoup's administration fees are temporarily in U.S. dollars.

We're ready to order!

  • Now you can login to TechSoup and select the software you wish to order, and add it to your shopping cart. From there, follow the instructions until you see your Order Confirmation Number - that's when you'll know your order is in the system.
