Error 1: "The installation failed."
To continue, you must remove Office for Mac completely from your computer and reinstall. To do this please visit the
Microsoft Solution Center.
Error 2: "Online activation did not complete successfully because the product key has been used the maximum number of times permitted."
You receive the error message if one of the following conditions is true:

You are trying to use the same product key on multiple computers, and you exceeded the limit that is specified in the Microsoft Software License Terms. The Microsoft Software License Terms are located in the product installation folder on your computer. For some products, the Terms allow activation on more than one computer. See the Microsoft Software License Terms for more information, including how many computers that the product can be activated on.

You made significant changes to your computer's hardware, such as installing a new RAM card, a video card, or other significant hardware.

You reformatted the hard disk.

Error 3: "You must quit the following applications before you continue."
You must quit any application that potentially interacts with Office for Mac during the Office for Mac 2011 installation. Closing the application is not the same as quitting. To quit an application you can either:

Select the application name next to the Apple icon, and then click Quit Application Name.
OR

If the program icon appears in the Dock, press the CONTROL key, click the icon, and then select Quit.

Error 4: "When I start an Application like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook, my Welcome screen does not have any buttons such as OK or Close to continue."
You're unable to see the Close button because your screen resolution is too low. The Close button has been cut off at the bottom of the screen.
To increase your screen resolution:

Click Apple.

Click System Preferences.
- Open Display.
- Change to a higher resolution. For example, change to 1280x800 or 1680x1050.
Note: The highest resolution depends on what your monitor supports. Some monitors are only capable of displaying 1024X768.
- Close the window.
