Eric Gales

Eric Gales has turned his passion for understanding and serving the needs of small and midsized businesses into a successful career, one that has spanned 15 years - seven of them at Microsoft.
As Vice-President, Small Business and Midmarket Solutions & Partners at Microsoft Canada, Eric continues to draw upon his deep industry expertise by helping businesses understand the depth and breadth of software solutions available to them. He also works closely with Microsoft’s vast partner community, identifying ways that, working together, they can help small and midsized business realize their full potential.
Previously, Eric led the U.K. Partner Group, which helps Microsoft’s managed partners to grow their businesses while also servicing the needs of millions of customers and potential customers. During that time he was closely involved in developing the highly successful Microsoft Partner Program, which was designed to serve the needs of small and midsize businesses.
Eric joined Microsoft in October 1999, initially as a global partner business manager before moving into the then Small & Medium Business group where he began to build the partner organization.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Eric worked at Compaq Computers for eight years, honing his skills in a variety of corporate sales and management roles that saw him ultimately become General Manager of the Partner Solutions group. In his early career he worked for a number of large channel organizations in enterprise sales roles, mainly with major customers focused in the financial sector.
Eric lives in Toronto with his wife and two children. He and his family enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities; Eric is a BSAC dive leader and has a private pilot’s licence.
