As Vice President of the Entertainment & Devices Division (E&D) at Microsoft Canada, Greg Barber has national responsibility for the marketing and retail sales functions for the Xbox entertainment system and consumer software and hardware businesses.
Since joining Microsoft Canada in 1991, Mr. Barber has demonstrated strong leadership in a variety of positions. Currently, he plays the lead role in developing Microsoft Canada’s digital lifestyle vision for the home. This responsibility includes focusing on how Microsoft can best bring technology and knowledge to the forefront of daily Canadian life by providing exciting productivity, communication and entertainment solutions and experiences.
His guidance within the Entertainment & Devices Division was instrumental in helping Microsoft Canada win the both the 2007 and 2002 E&D Subsidiary of the Year award by Microsoft Corporation. Prior to his current role, Mr. Barber was the National Retail Sales and Marketing manager responsible for the Retail Sales and Marketing. Mr. Barber has also held a variety of other positions within the company including working in Partner Sales and previously as an employee recruiter with Human Resources. In 2000 as Retail Sales Manager, he was the recipient of the Frontier Award, which recognized him as one of Microsoft's top 10 performers worldwide, an award which complimented the Sales Representative of the Year award distinction he received in 1998.
Mr. Barber lives in Kitchener, Ontario with his wife and four children. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, skiing and running.
