Owen Sagness

Vice President, Microsoft OSG Canada


As Vice President of Microsoft Canada's Online Services Group, Owen Sagness is responsible for driving the business strategy behind some of the country's leading web-based services under the MSN and Windows Live brands. These top ranked services in their respective categories include the Sympatico.MSN.ca portal, MSN Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Spaces. He is also responsible for continuing to build on the success of the Live Search service and for introducing the Microsoft AdCenter advertising platform in Canada.

In 2003, Mr. Sagness was instrumental in forming the company's strategic alliance with Bell Canada that resulted in the Sympatico / MSN portal and continues to lead that relationship for the company.

Formerly Director, Public Sector, at Microsoft Canada, Owen was responsible for Microsoft's Public Sector activities across Canada, including Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Governments, Healthcare and Education. Prior to this position, he was Director, Enterprise Commercial Sales, responsible for Microsoft Canada's non-vertical, medium, and large enterprise customer accounts.

Owen lives in Toronto with his wife and their four children.
